El ViajedeCarol
I really enjoyed this movie I am probably the only one who had seen the movie with subtitles in it. This movie moved me and again shows the lengths that a mother will go to to protect and have her child taken care of. Carol's mother taking her to Spain and dying to make sure her daughter was taken care of. The fact that Carols father was american and mother from Spain shows again the mixuture of 2 great cultures. Carol during the movie forms a great relationship with Tomiche whom she fought with at the beginning. The kind of love the 2 of them showed was great. Two young people who had a lot in common from 2 cultures. Tomi had no father figure in his life and Carol was lacking hers, due to war. After her mother dies Carol strives to keep her fathers letters coming and not letting him know her mother died. After a while the grandfather goes against his promise to keep the secret but over all Carol longs to see her father. Carol tries hard to adapt to her new culture, but things are really hard. She spends alot of time teaching maid to read and write and developes a good relationship with her. Her cousin and her become good friends and feel like sisters. Carol fights the discrimination that happened to her in the writings on the house and fears for her family. I think the relationship between her and Tomi were great and the love showed greatly at the end when Tomi went to find Carol's dad on his own and then was shot and killed. Carol was a strong young lady. This movie was very interesting.
